Bro. Abbott is an Independent Baptist Evangelist that stands unashamedly and
unapologetically for the old fashioned truths of God’s Word. He seeks to reach
as many people as possible around the globe with the life changing power of the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. His messages are up to date, relevant, straight forward,
hard-hitting and Biblical.
Bro. Abbott only holds meetings in “Baptistic” churches. He is not ashamed of who
he is and therefore has nothing to hide. He does not preach in Pentecostal and/or
Charismatic churches. He welcomes anyone to his crusades, but does not take their
support or sponsorship. He does not hold meetings in “Protestant” churches, such
as Methodist, Presbyterian, Lutheran, etc. He will not in any way join forces
with the Catholic Church. He believes in New Testament Ecclesiastical separation
and has no confidence in ecumenical evangelism. He is not a member of any convention
or association. He holds meetings in churches that are of like faith and practice.
Bro. Abbott does not in any way support the modern Contemporary movement in today’s
churches. He will not hold meetings where he feels he has to compromise his
convictions to get a crowd. No matter how large the event is, he will not
participate in meetings that promote and glorify hard-core contemporary music.
Absolutely Nothing! Bro. Abbott travels by faith and does not place a price on
his meetings. He will come on a “love-offering” basis. Travel expenses are extremely
high, but he does not require a travel expense. It is helpful when a church takes
care of these expenses, but he has never required a dime to come to a church. If
however, he has to fly, he does ask that the church reimburse his tickets. If the
church is not able to cover this expense, then the ministry will cover it in its
entirety. Bro. Abbott does not come to be a burden; he desires only to be a
blessing. You will not hear Bro. Abbott asking for money during the meeting,
and if the Pastor forgets to give him his check, it will have to be mailed to
his home church because he will not remind him or mention it in any way. God
has taken care of him for all of these years and he is not going to start
focusing on money.
The Abbott Family normally travel in a 40ft. Fifth-wheel Travel Trailer. This
provides them with the ease and comfort of having their own things on the road.
Bro. Abbott prefers to park at the church and only needs a power outlet and a
water connection. Most churches only have 110 power, but 220 would be ideal.
(click here to see a picture of a 50amp RV outlet and plug) When they are not
traveling in the travel trailer, it would be much more conducive to have a hotel
room than someone’s home. It is much easier to work with children in a private
environment. If the church has a prophets chamber, that is fine as well.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If Bro. Abbott is traveling alone, please DO NOT put him in
a Motel/Hotel by himself. He would prefer to stay in a prophet’s chamber
or a home. If he is placed in a home, please ensure that it is not one that
would jeopardize his testimony. He does not stay in homes where he is required
to be alone in the house with a lady. If the husband has to work and ladies are
to be left to remain in the house, please find another place.
Bro. Abbott believes that the pastor should be in full control of the meeting.
He will not come in and “take over.” He does not make demands of the Pastor or
his people. He preaches as he is directed by the Holy Spirit and he serves as he
is directed by the Pastor. His motto to the Pastor is: "We are here to serve not
to be served." He will gladly preach, teach, counsel, visit and whatever else needs
to be done. However, there are times that he spends with his family and doesn’t
need to be busy at all times. He has a great deal of office work that he does
while on the road and will need some free time to do that as well.
Meals are at the discretion of the Pastor. The Abbott's do not mind eating out
with people, nor do they mind eating in homes. However, if they are scheduled
to be in a home, Bro. Abbott request that the Pastor be there for the meal as
well. The only exception is that the Abbott's are already acquainted with the
family. One large meal a day is all that they would prefer. If they have their
travel trailer, they are able to prepare their own meals and perhaps some
groceries could be provided. If the meal is going to be before the evening
service, please have it to be around 5:00pm. That gives Bro. Abbott plenty of
time to be finished and ready for the preaching that night.
